FCET Omoku Provost
Dr.Emmanuel Ikenyiri was bom in August 28th 1960 in Obrikom Community in the present Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area of Rivers State. He attended Community Primary School Obrikom where he obtained his First School Leaving Certificate (FSLC) in 1973. By 1974, he gained admission to Federal Government Teachers’ Training College Bodo which later moved to Ahoada. There he obtained his Teachers Grade II (TCII) Certificate in 1979.
Dr. Emmanuel lkenyiri began his teaching career in 1979 in Community Primary School Aso-Imonita in Ndoni District of Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area, later transferred to State School Obite in 1981.
His quest for education led him to gain admission to Rivers State College of Education Rumuolumeni, Port Harcourt where he read History/Religious Studies. He graduated in 1984 and was mobilised for National Youths Service Corps (NYSC) in Ondo State and he did his primary assignment in Community Secondary School Itapaji Ekiti now in Ekiti State.
At the end of the (NYSC) in 1985, Dr. Ikenyiri was posted to Arugunya Community Secondary School Anyu in Abua/Odua Local Government Area. In 1992 he transferred to Community Secondary School Omoku and 1993, to the newly established Community Secondary School Obrikom where he became the Pioneer vice Principal. Not done with education, Dr. Ikenyiri got admission in University of Port Harcourt in 1987 where he read Psychology Guidance and Counselling and graduated with Second Class Upper Division in 1991.
He obtained his Masters Degree in Guidance and Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Guidance and Counselling in the same University of Port Harcourt where he obtained M.Ed in 1995 and Ph.D in 2007.
In 1999, Dr. Ikenyiri was employed in Federal College of Education (Technical) Omoku as a Lecturer II and rose to the rank of Chief Lecturer in 2011.
